Cinnamon Toast Crunch Picture

Post by michelleewaldron »

Was everyone else able to link to the Cinnamon Toast Crunch picture in this week's Detail? I received a "File not Found" error. I tried a quick Google/Google Images search but could not find it on my own.

Could someone email it to me at

Yes, I am a dork and was excited to see this. :D

I'm with ya Michelle - I also could not link to the picture but would love to see it. Can't believe the company actually noted a 16 point requirement. Who needs CSI when we now have the cereal companies to back us?

Sincerely,
Your fellow dork

If you want to play the game online go here: http://www.millsberry.com/ctc/

As for the image link, HTML is case sensitive and the link had a capital letter in it that shouldn't have been there. Here's the image

WOW!!! A complete training program and certification test all rolled into one -- all for only the price of a box of cereal. What will they think of next?

And don't forget that the only "fingers" to have unique details are the "thumbs", at least that is the impression the cereal box leaves.

This Fingerprint Stuff Is Too Hard

Post by Gerald Clough »

Ya'll just keep on slaving away and ruining your eyes staring at itty-bitty fingerprints. I'm going to branch out into something easier:

How to Become a Court-Certified Dreadlocks Expert

By Michael Brick

Updated, 4:30 p.m. | Criminal trials are full of experts. There are science experts to explain skid marks, ballistics, fingerprint analysis and DNA; there are behavioral experts to opine on false confessions, mental fitness and gangs. Most gain their specialized knowledge from working in law enforcement.

But to become a certified expert, all you need to do is persuade a judge that you have some specialized knowledge relevant to the circumstances of a particular case. And that is how Bruce Gillespie, of the Experience Hair Salon on Franklin Avenue in Brooklyn, came to be certified as a Dreadlocks Expert in Federal District Court in Brooklyn.

Mr. Gillespie testified for the defense this week in the case of United States v. Salvatore LoPresti, a former captain of guards at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. Mr. LoPresti was charged with beating an inmate so badly that blood and parts of his hair were left on the floor. (The jury returned a guilty verdict today; see the update below.)

During cross-examination, the prosecutor expressed incredulity. Challenging Mr. Gillespie’s assertion that dry dreadlocks can easily fall from a person’s hair, the prosecutor asked, “Fifteen dreadlocks at once, spontaneously, poof, off your head?”

Update: Later in the day, the jury convicted Captain Lopresti of conspiracy charges. While the jury found that Captain LoPresti had conspired with other officers to plan and carry out the assault, it acquitted him of actually having taken part in the beating itself.

Can't say the cereal is all that great, but the Certification and training is amazing! I'm now confident and proud to explain where my education came from and I may have lowered my cholestorol in the process!

That cereal box would be an excellent court exhibit, juries will love it! :P

Ann, are you kidding? I have enough trouble with a couple of my ID Techs mishandling evidence. All I need is for them to eat the court exhibits!

HB,

Since you're the unit supervisor, it is your duty to make sure the troops are well fed and happy. :D

Well fed, indeed, Ann. There are five basic food groups for police personnel: Alcohol, Caffiene, Nicotine, Sugar, and Salt. Think of it as a food pyramid, kind of like the pyramid on the back of a dollar bill, except picture it with a donut at the top of the pyramid instead of the "all seeing eye." Cinnamon Toast Crunch isn't up there with the donut, but it ain't far below.

Hank,

You forgot bagels in that pyramid for those of us who cannot do donuts anymore! Supervisors who don't supply bagels are just 'wrong'.

I heard a rumor that if you cannot eat donuts anymore that is grounds for an ethics violation and a person could have there certification revoked.

I am not taking any chances----I have a dozen fresh made donuts right here.

Not fair Charles... I'm sure I smell the aroma wafting through, but I can't quite reach across the cyberspace to grab one!

RLT I have been trying most of the day to figure out the way to put a picture of a donut on this site, but it is beyond my means.
