Fire investigation anyone?

Hello all

I would like to hear from anyone who has experience in multiple fire origins and how to sift out the red herrings in terms of most intense area of the fire as opposed to origin of the fire.

Unlike in South Africa, most U.S. latent print examiners specialize only in latent print examination, with cross-training in general crime scene analysis. Rarely would a latent print examiner undertake arson examination services or testify in court to anything other than his/her expertise area of latent print examination. A case such as this would normally be referred to a specialized fire investigator such as a detective specializing in arson or an experienced fire chief with forensic training. While I was completing my degree we had arson lectures from people associated with Gardiner Associates. They train police and forensic experts in England.

They let us go to one of their burn days, where they set up scenes for training purposes, and we got to see the before and after of a number of different arson scenes. Really good for forensic students to watch.
