Looking to see if anyone has any opinion on the Spex Crimescope CS-16-500 ALS vs. the Spectrum 9000 ALS from Melles Griot. We have two of the Spectrum 9000 units in the lab currently and were about to replace one of them with another Spectrum 9000 when government bureaucracy got in the way with a lower bid from Spex with their unit. I have nothing against Spex, I was just trying to keep things consistent equipment wise in the section and don't really know much about their product (except what Spex is telling me of course). This unit is predominantly used in the latent print section with dye stains. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated on or off the forum, especially from those that have or have used their product.
