I like the old format better for two reasons already mentioned:
1) I can scan quickly to see if new replies have been posted and go straight to them;
2) Replies link directly to the post they address, leaving it easy to see who is replying to whom, rather than in order by time posted.

Pat (or should I call you Ned),

There's an easier way to find new posts with the new board. When you go to the "www.clpex.com Forum Index" page, there's a link on the right hand side that will allow you to "view posts since your last visit." You must be logged in for this feature though.

You can do what I did here, and use the "Quote" button if you think it's necessary to respond directly to something. If you want to split up the quote, you'll have to insert some code to start and stop the quotes, but you can always just reply above or below the quoted text.

Another benefit is that older posts that are replied to will come to the top. This allows new users to find older posts that they may be able to provide information regarding, long after the initial post.

Sorry for the delay in contributing Kasey.

While I like the new format it is the fact that sites like this and onin.com exist that is really important.

I would like to acknowledge the massive contribution of yourself and Ed German to openness and accountability in your profession.

Above all I am thankful that you have published without fear or favour and for years have given Shirley a voice denied her by the authorities.

Best wishes,

Hey Kasey,

Is it possible for you to create sub-boards within the forum index?

After discovering that my personal accounts had been hacked into and my weak, but hard earned, South African Rands had been withdrawn and that my pc was full of spyware, and being used as an ATM, I have had to start afresh. I am finally up and running again

I have not been able to visit this site for a while and was initially a bit surprised to find the change in the forum format. I do however like the format as it is similar to the one in use in my organisation and very user friendly. Well done!
