For those who are registering for the first time, you must go through a process for registration which includes confirming the registration. This will require a valid email address and confirming the registration through that address.
In the past, I would send reminders to those who had registered but not confirmed the registration. However the list of new registrants has become too large for me to do so. Fortunately Kasey has put in place several safeguards to keep bots from registering. Some spam registrants get through on occasion and I deal with them as I can. However the large number of the bots that register without confirmation is diluting the pool of legitimate registrants to the point that I can't keep reminding those that don't complete the process. It's becoming common to see between 25-50 bot registrants each day. trying to wade through all of the usernames and emails to decide which are legitimate is too much.
So if you register but find yourself without access to the portions of the board requiring registration, make sure you confirmed the registration or didn't make a typo on your email address. If there's a question, you can always contact me or Kasey.
