Iraq jobs

Post by Kathy Saviers »

On the IAI website, there several entries from private companies soliciting for latent print examiners, crime scene investigators, etc. to go to Iraq. They offer huge salaries. Has anyone tried for one of these jobs or has anyone actually gone to Iraq for one of these employers?

I an not interested in applying, I was just interested if anyone had done so.

I understand there are a surplus of qualified retired examiners scheduled for two month stints over there. Quite a nice little bonus to add to the budget for motor home travel, cruises, medical bills, etc. Nice work if you can cope with the obvious down-side issues.

I talked to one of the folks that were advertising for the Latent examiner job in Iraq. The jobs are 3-4 months and in the Green Zone in Baghdad. You share a trailer with other examiners and do all of your work at the base there. They do a phone interview with you and have you come out for an second interview and physical. The person I spoke with was very nice, informed and they are serious about getting qualified people to fill up spots. The green zone probably isn't the safest spot in the world, but the money is attractive. Probably a good job for people transitioning to another job, part-timers or retired examiners.

Yes, there are jobs here in Iraq for latent examiners, especially those cross trained in digital photography and lab processing. No, there are not currently any latent examiners working in the Green Zone (International Zone), but there may be soon. The latent examiners work elsewhere.
Yes, you may possibly share a trailer accommodation with other examiners, or other persons you do not know.
