Tracking the Crime Scene

Post by Ken Chappell »

Greetings and Merry Christmas to all.

Are there any Investigators that use Tracking in conjunction with Shoe prints as a routine part of your investigations ?

I try to track every crime scene and try to get patrol (uninformed division, I mean Uniform Division) to look for shoe print tracks. I have had some success using these two techniques with identifying suspects, their participation with the crime, in so far as, being the burglar or the look-out and have also helped a few innocent people who just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Do you consider Tracking to be an art or science worthy to be considered to be under the umbrella of forensics ?
