We are looking to add more great examiners to our team! Drama free workplace!!

The City of Oakland is currently hiring for a latent print examiner II. We work 7½ days (dayshift only), 37½ work week.

See the IAI website for details or go to the City of Oakland's website http://agency.governmentjobs.com/oaklandca/default.cfm

Oakland PD is a great place to work and the benefits are very good.

It was, indeed, a great place to work. But I've been retired a few years. Will you take me back?

What's the catch with the 37.5 hour weeks? I can't imagine that a city government out of the kindness of its "heart" is reducing full time equivalency to 37.5 hours/week from 40 hours/week. Is that 2.5 hours a week furloughed time, not paid, or is it lost in retirement calculation such that a full year on the job isn't quite a full year because you worked 2.5 hours less each week? When something looks too good to be true...

It's one of the things you get when a union negotiates your contract.

THE Harry Caldwell is always welcome back at OPD of course!

The 7½ hour days is because of a union negotiation years ago, even before I was here the first time in 2001. Not a trick.
