Records Requests
I was just wondering how other agencies went ahead and received tenprint cards from different agencies. For example if you were looking at a subject but the subject was not arrested by your agency, how do you go about obtaining copies of a tenprint card to make a comparison. I have asked for faxed/scanned/emailed copies from other agencies but everything I receive has a great amount of distortion present due to these sending methods. Is there anything that anyone has found to be more reliable in obtaining copies of tenprint cards. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Records Requests
Best method I have seen is to request the other agency to send a NIST file of their record which you can then open in a NIST viewer (downloadable Free) and print.
Most agencies now have some form of archive where NIST files are stored and they can easily be recovered and attached to an email.
Quality is much better that the methods you mentioned.
Good luck.

If you have access to the FBI # through their rap sheet, access to the FBI's NGI and ULW, you can create an IRQ transaction for their prints and download them that way.

Thank you. I will take a look into both methods.
