I ran across this article today on a Daubert hearing in Vermont.

......Burt also asked if investigators know it is a high-profile case, “does it causes a bias effect?”

Gische said bias is something they need to be aware of, but it did not figure into the Madrid bombing error.

Per the OIG Report (pg 139 of the pdf)
The power of the IAFIS match and the pressure of working on a high profile case influenced Green's initial judgment and created a mind-set in which his examination became biased by an expectation that the prints
were a match.
