Life Expectancy of Dye Stains and QC Checks

This is yet another part of my previous post under the RAM Dye Stain post. For labs who use any kind of dye stains, what do you do for a QC check of the dye stain? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

To QC check my Dye Stain I usually take my sample from my CA control (small piece of clear plastic or such) and stain it. If it fluoresces (sp?) its considered ok.
