Do you feel that it is important to consider the acronym when choosing a term to potentially replace "Major Case Prints", or would you completely disregard the acronym and choose only on the basis of the meaning of the proposed term?

My sense is that people were trying too hard to make the acronym into a word. Forget cute! A non-word acronym that accurately _and concisely_ describes the exemplars is more important.

An acronym is unimportant and, I think, potentially counterproductive. Many of us depend heavily or totally upon jail personnel, sometimes lightly trained, to secure prints. A descriptive term tht clearly conveys what is desired seems far more useful than an acronym that may or may not be familiar to the person securing the prints.

Although the "Major" in Major Case Prints tends to be confusing, it is the training for those taking the prints that plays the larger roll, not the name that we give them, acronym or not.
