does anyone have any good articles about these two fingerprinting techniques for my dissertation.

The work by Helen Bandey at the Police Scientific Development Branch of the Home Office in the U.K. is the most comprehensive. You can find a series of 3 studies there entitled "the Powders Process". It's excellent work and will answer any questions you have about the comparative differences between powders and the various ways to apply them.
They have a web site if you google it. If you have trouble finding them, email me.
